An emergency meeting of the Madras Aquatic Center Board of Directors was held Nov. 17, to discuss the future of the facility's general manager Grant Hayball.
Board members did not indicate reasons that led to the meeting, since this was a confidential personnel matter.
In open session, board members passed a motion to "authorize the district's attorney to negotiate a separation subject to the board approval, or to give notice of termination."
MAC chairman Dave Evans thanked employee Bonnie Namenuk and program manager Bobby DeRoest for "keeping things going while things are in flux," and noted, "There's work to be done to bring the district into shape."
Ted Viramonte, MAC secretary-treasurer, noted, "We're going to identify an interim that we can bring to the board. My hope is that we will have someone at the next regular meeting on the second Thursday of December, or before."
