Does Klamath need a county administrator?

It appears likely that Klamath County residents will be voting on one, if not two, charter proposals creating a position for a professional administrator answerable to elected county commissioners. What do you think? Share your comments below.

Name that rivalry

On Tuesday night, the H&N sports department covered the crosstown doubleheader between Triad and Hosanna Christian. Seeing as the teams are in the same town and league, and each school's respective gyms are packed more so than usual when they square off, we sports guys have determined this clash needs a name.

ATV dangers

What is the matter with parents who pull their kids on sleds with pickups and ATVs on residential streets? One on an ATV at night with no lights on was pulling his kids behind and almost ran into a grader trying to clear snow on our street. ATVs are not street legal vehicles. Should the police be called?

Great children are in need of homes

Thursday, November 6, 2008 11:45 PM PST
Nov. 15 is National Adoption Day, a special event designed to raise awareness of adoption and to celebrate the adoption of thousands of foster care children nationwide. Every year in the United States, more than 125,000 children are waiting in foster care to be adopted.

These are great kids. They didn’t choose to be abused or neglected, permanently separated from their birth parents and placed into foster care. These children are right here in your community, and they all deserve permanent homes.

Adopting from foster care is affordable and, even though the process can be complicated, these children are well worth it.

If you cannot provide an adoptive home for these wonderful children, there are numerous other ways to help.

Please consider looking further into foster care adoption by contacting your local Department of Human Services or Special Needs Adoption agencies. Every child deserves a save, loving, permanent home.
